VVS Neurology Specialist

Dr Sarah Butterfield

BSc(Hons) BVSc PGDip(VCP) MVetMed DipECVN MRCVS
European and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Neurology and Neurosurgery


Sarah graduated with her degree in Veterinary Science from the University of Bristol in 2016, having also completed a degree in Cellular and Molecular medicine. After working in first-opinion practice, Sarah returned to Bristol to complete a rotating internship where she also gained a post-graduate diploma in veterinary clinical practice. She then completed a Neurology internship at Fitzpatrick Referrals before undertaking her Neurology residency at the Royal Veterinary College in London alongside a Masters in Veterinary Medicine.

Following completion, she stayed at the RVC as a clinician and lecturer providing clinical teaching to undergraduate students, interns and residents, and was awarded her European Diplomate status.

She has presented her research at both national and international conferences. Sarah enjoys all aspects of Neurology, and has particular interests in epilepsy, inflammatory brain disease and neuromuscular conditions.
