Internal Medicine Specialist

Redefine Internal Medicine Teleconsulting with VVS: Where Thought Leaders Change Care

Role: Internal Medicine Specialist (ECVIM-CA/ACVIM-SAIM)

Virtual Veterinary Specialists (VVS) – UK-based, serving multiple countries

Contract: UK employed (remote) or international consulting

Pattern: 1–3 days/week. Core collaboration 09:00–18:00 UK (Mon–Fri for now)

Why VVS?

Join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team at the forefront of tele-consulting and tele-diagnostics. The role is multi-faceted comprising of consultations, live-guided procedures, mentorship sessions, and project (or service) development.  The ultimate goal is to elevate GP confidence and patient outcomes while shaping the future of remote internal medicine.

What you’ll do

  • Virtual internal medicine consultations (new cases, follow-ups, ongoing stewardship).
  • Live-guided support for vets of all experience levels.
  • One-to-one and group mentorship that expands clinical knowledge and offers vets an engaging and refreshing way of seeking clinical support and advice.
  • Collegial, multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Supporting service innovation and development to the benefit of our clients and their patients.

What you’ll bring

  • ECVIM-CA (Internal Medicine) or ACVIM (SAIM) Diplomate.
  • RCVS Recognised Specialist desirable (especially if UK-based).
  • Minimum of 2 years post-residency clinical experience.
  • Clear, supportive communication and a flexible and open mindset.

Working style & availability

  • Clinical support is currently available 09:00–18:00 UK, Monday–Friday.
  • We’re responsive when partner practices need help resulting in occasional OOH support.
  • We anticipate introducing a weekend service within 6–12 months; openness to fair rota participation is welcomed.

Compensation & benefits

  • Competitive salary with similar Specialist teleconsulting roles (UK employed) + discretionary performance-related bonus (pro-rated for 1–3 days/week).
  • International consulting arrangement available- the daily remuneration would be comparable to the UK pro-rated salary.
  • Pro-rated contributions to RCVS annual membership, RCVS Specialist fees, ECVIM/ACVIM membership dues (if self-funded).
  • VDS cover for VVS working days.
  • RCVS Library online access.
  • UK-employed: 5 weeks’ holiday + your birthday off (pro-rated).
