VVS Internal Medicine Specialist

Dr Jorge Perez-Accino

European & RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine


Jorge graduated from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain in 2014. He completed his first small animal internship at Hospital Ars Veterinaria in Barcelona, after which he moved his professional career to the UK. He initially worked as a general practice veterinarian in the north of England before undertaking a second internship at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh. Jorge then completed a residency program in internal medicine at the same institution. Followed by a period of a Lectureship in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the university, educating both veterinary students and postgraduate trainees, and in 2021 he achieved European specialist diplomate status. He relocated to northern Spain after that, and is currently working as clinician in a large referral and first opinion hospital, Hospital Veterinari Canis, in Girona.

He has published and co-authored multiple research articles in international journals and contributed to national and international conferences through oral presentations and posters. His core clinical interests include gastrointestinal and autoimmune disease with a particular focus on canine chronic enteropathy.
